Apple started releasing iOS 11 around 10a Pacific Time. I kept getting this same message until after that time, but was successful a bit later.

Which exact model is your iPad? Some earlier models are not supported for iOS 11.

Here’s a list of supported iPads:

12.9-inch iPad Pro 2nd generation

12.9-inch iPad Pro 1st generation

10.5-inch iPad Pro, 9.7-inch iPad Pro

iPad Air 2, iPad Air

iPad 5th generation

iPad mini 4, iPad mini 3 and iPad mini 2

If yours is not listed then it’s up to date.

Hmm, that should be fine.

Have you tried temporarily connecting your iPad to a Mac or PC that has iTunes and updating it that way?

Hi pgarden. Do you have any beta profile on your device? You cannot get general release updates while enrolled in a beta.
