Problems with My Library

My library is a mess.  Although Itunes has no problem finding my music when it initially lists it, if I try to actually access any of the songs I get the exclamation point and a message stating that the song can't be used as the file can't be accessed, would I like to find it?  I obviously can't do this one at a time for 3000 songs.  I have tried to see what might be causing a problem.  I've found that when I check organize files (File/Library/Organize library) and check Consolidate Files, then ok, the check mark immediately disappears.  I do have a check in the Preferences/Advanced area regarding keeping the folder organized, and  copying files to the Media folder when adding to the library, but the only song in my Itunes folder is one that I sent there myself via "Add file to library".  Can anyone give me suggestions?  I am using this on Windows 10 64-bit.
