GPS not tracking milage in outdoor cycle activi...

gps not tracking milage or average speed in outdoor cycle activity on apple watch series 3. i had my iPhone 7 on me, not that I needed since i have LTE verizon service turned on, but i did have phone on me. looking at activity tracker from my iPhone, i can see that it mapped out my ride so i know the GPS was tracking me, it's just not tracking in the active app. Does anyone know if this is a bug that Apple needs to fix or if there is a fix i can do?
