Can I make iTunes stop after single play of song?
Rather than iTunes playing a continuous stream of songs, is it possible to get it to play ONE song and then STOP? I don't want it to loop, just play once and then silence.
You could create a playlist for the task.
Or you could uncheck all content, then each track will only play once.
Or you could make sure that in the magnifying glass in the search box that Search Entire Library is not ticked, then if you enter the name of the track you want to play in search only it will be shown (add further details such as album title if more than one show) then when you play the track it will stop after playing.
These all assume you haven't enabled loop play. Use Controls > Repeat > Off if you have.
