Airpods connect then disconnect immediately fro...

Hey there,

When trying to connect my airpods to my mac, I usually select then from the bluetooth menu and click "Connect". At this point I hear them connecting (with a little sound) and them disconnect immediately (with another little sound). Tried multiple times to no avail. Tried to unpair them from icloud and pair them again to no avail. Tried a reset to no avail.

The only thing that worked was to restart my mac (MBP mid 2013). Took a look at the console and all I can see is that an audio device could not be created, immediately followed by the airpods disconnecting. I can post the complete logs if needed.

Any idea how to fix this?

Mac: 10.12.4 (16E195)

Airpods: A1523, firmware 3.5.1

  • MacOS 10.12.5
  • Airpod Firmware: 3.7.2

I'm experiencing the same issue. Could you kindly post your logs. I've enabled Bluetooth debugging and would like to compare your logs to mine.

For anyone else experiencing this issue, kindly contribute your relevant log entries. Enable Bluetooth debugging by pressing Shift+Option then clicking the Bluetooth menu icon, select the 'Debug' menu and select 'Enable Bluetooth logging'. After enabling, open the 'Console' app, quickly clear the log window entries and connect your Airpods. Once you hear the disconnect sound, immediately select all the log window entries and then copy and paste them into TextEdit.

Here are some entries in my logs that stood out:

  • default 01:01:47.656961 +0700 blued ***** [l2capChannelData] - BT_ACCOUNT_PAIRING_OPCODE_ERROR
  • error 01:01:48.511784 +0700 blued Invalid command size
  • error 01:01:48.538668 +0700 blued Trigger core audio to connect to bluetoothaudiod but we don't know about coreaudiod
  • error 01:02:00.581602 +0700 bluetoothaudiod Failed to find created audiodevice ID

I'm having the same issue as reported and I'm getting the same log messages. Anyone find out what is causing this?
