I have a ipad that is using my old Apple ID and...

Ipad won't allow me to change from my old Apple ID and password. I try to sync it to my Mac-still not successful.

When I try to add my new email and password it tells me that I can't, it is not available.

What to do? I have updates that need to be done.

Was this "old" Apple ID yours? If so, you should be able to log out of this old ID, and then, log back in with your new ID.

Did you previous Apple ID email address end in @me.com, @mac.com, or @icloud.com?

Where are you trying to change it, to start with?

What do you mean when you say your try to sync it to your Mac? What, exactly, are you doing at that point?

Where are you trying to add a new email and password - Mac, iPad?

Have you signed the old ID out of all of the places in the iPad? iCloud, iTunes & App Store, FaceTime, Messages?
