27" iMac keyboard issues

Hi all. I just bought an iMac 27". Today is the 8th day of use. After 2 days the keyboard started either not registering keystrokes or typing random keys by itself. An online chat with Apple Support was very helpful and they determined that, after various checks, the keyboard should be replaced.

So back it went and the store I bought it from said once they'd determined there was a problem they would replace with new. Said it would take 5 to 7 days.

So, I borrowed a replacement Apple bluetooth keyboard (ex iMac 2013) from a family member and things were going great.... until today. The keyboard which has been in use for 4 years without any faults suddenly raised the volume when working in FCPX, then lowered it and when I hit the volume off key nothing happened so I quit the app. I went straight to Safari to start a search and when I clicked in the search bar, random characters were being typed on their own, as though someone had taken control!!

I did everything I did last week (disc utility, un-pair and re-pair bluetooth, restart etc.) and everything was fine for an hour, then it did it again!

Did a restart (again) and the cursor for the mouse did not show up .... dragged all the way down to Dock where it magically appeared. Also noticed cursor flashes as magnified now and again.

So I'm thinking the issue is not the keyboard, there's something going on in the iMac. Unfortunately, this Apple dealer where I live (not USA) has a 1 week exchange policy, after that it becomes a repair issue. That week expired yesterday.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar and is there any way to fix it.... or have I bought a lemon which I now can't change? I really hope not, as it's a lot of money...
