I want to prevent transferring any virus/ troja...

I think I may have got recently a virus and or Trojan on my macmini and want to prevent migrating it/them over to my new macmin, what is the best way to achieve this please.

 

Present macmini is 10.6.8. 2.26 intel cor 2 duo processo.

 

New one 2.6. 8gig. 1 TB.

It’s extremely unlikely you have a virus or a Trojan. Perhaps an adware/malware?

 

To answer your question directly: clean up your old Mac before migrating anything to the new one. To do so, download and run Malwarebytes and EtreCheck. Both are safe and don’t run anything in the background. If you currently have any anti-virus or “clean up” software installed, uninstall immediately - they’re likely the source of your issues.
