Handoff not working

I cannot see Handoff icons in my Mac's dock or in any of my iOS device's lock screen or multitasking screen.

My Mac is a 15" MacBook Pro Retina 2014 running latest Mac OS Sierra.

My iPhone 6S and iPad Air are both running latest iOS 10.

All devices have bluetooth, wifi and handoff turned on.

I have signed off and back in to iCloud with my Apple ID in all devices.

Follow the steps on this link to be sure all settings for Handoff are set correctly.
