Tried repeatedly to restore my Ipad but .nothin...

My Ipad became disabled after numerous attempts to enter the correct password that had been used for quite some time and each attempt was rejected.  I looked up ways to resolve this on my PC and all pointed to a restore.  Followed directions, saw the logo with my cable pointed at it and indications at the top of the Ipad screen of a restore occurring.  Eventually, that disappeared and the white Apple logo appeared and then the same message that the system was disabled.  How can I restore the Ipad?
