I get "Time Machine could not create a local sn...

Recent upgrade to High Sierra and Time Machine backups no longer work.

Error message is "Time Machine could not create a local snapshot to back up from."

Another machine (MacBook pro) also recently upgrade to High Sierra is successfully using Time Machine to backup to the same networked 5 TB drive.
