MacBook Pro 2017 display dims after restart?

Hi all

I have a fairly new MacBook Pro (15-inch 2.9Ghz i7, 2017, Sierra 10.12.6), and it's great. There's one annoyance, however, and that's that after every restart, the display is dimmed to about 75%, in spite of using the Power adapter. I like my displays at 100% brightness, and it's annoying that this won't "stick" – I set it to 100% brightness, and after the next restart, it's back to 75%.

I have unchecked "Automatically adjust brightness", and turning "Night Shift" (set to 930pm to 600am) on or off doesn't affect this issue either. And again, I'm talking about Power adapter use, no battery use.

Is this som hardcoded environmental protection thing? Is there some Terminal command I can use to override this? Does anyone experience the same?

Thanks in advance

Hans

Hi,

Try resetting the NVRAM: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204063.

Try resetting the SMC: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295.

Try booting into Safe Mode: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262 and see if the issue persists there.
