I have just downloaded the latest update and now when I go into messenger it opens then close immediately and goes back to my home screen, why is this happening

This is happening because the app has not been updated to work on IOS 11 yet and is force closing. Just wait a few days till the messenger app is updated and then it should open with out an issue.

Thank you for your reply Alex but I have since found other apps that it is happening to. I will take it that the same answer applies to these apps as well
