Audio issues on Mac Mini when streaming live co...

I have a Mac Mini connected to a TV via HDMI.  I have the audio settings set to play through HDMI and sites like Netflix and Youtube, etc, send the audio through the TV fine.  However, when I stream live content like news channels on Xfinity.com or ABC.com the audio plays through the Mac Mini internal speaker.

The issue started happening when someone doing work on the house flipped the breaker to which the mini is connected, but I don't see how that would affect a website's audio. 

I'm sure there is a setting I'm overlooking, but I can't figure out which one it is.
