How do I get best print results using Photoshop...

I am using Photoshop Elements 12 to print photos but have difficulty getting image shown on computer screen reproduced well by printer which is Epson XP-225

Yours is an older printer and it appears that the drivers haven't been updated in a while. Your Mac no doubt has better resolution and image quality than can probably be reproduced by this printer (which is not a dedicated Photo printer).

You can only control your quality within the Epson print panel, so you need to experiment with different settings there. I'd also suggest that you contact Epson support and ask for assistance.

Photoshop Elements 12 is not supported on macOS SIerra by Adobe — only PS Elements 15. Because of this, Adobe has not performed any associated macOS Sierra unit testing, or bug fixes to PSE 12. Consequently, your results may not be what you expect.

Secondly, if you are not using current Epson XP-225 printer drivers that are specifically stated by Epson as for macOS Sierra, then you introduce yet another potential obstacle that can contribute to your stated problem.
