Does iTunes 12 upgrade break SRS iWow?

Has anyone who uses the SRS iWow iTunes plugin on their Mac upgraded to iTunes 12? I'm wondering whether it works with v12 of iTunes. An earlier iTunes upgrade (don't remember which one) broke iWow, and I'd rather not find out the hard way that the same is true for the upgrade to 12.0, at least until I can find out whether DTS will be issuing an update that fixes any issues.

Hi the answer is yes and no. I upgraded my iTunes and iwow did not work. The menu for it was gone. I then remembered something from long ago.  Do a get info on iTunes app and turn off the 32 bit mode.  I did this and now Iwow works and is happy.

NOT SOLVED!

How does one turn off the 32 bit mode? What do I click on after Get Info? Your answer is either wrong, or you left part of the answer out.

Don't shout (all uppercase letters is considered shouting on the Internet), "Not solved!"  It apparently did solve it to the satisfaction of the originator of this topic 2 years ago and for that version of iTunes.

Somebody else answered this recently for iTunes 12.5. You need to re-install your plugin from your archived copy of your plugin installer.

I've tried reinstalling it several times, to no avail.

After I click on Get Info, what do I do next? I see no 32- or 64-bit anything.

I am not sure that option even exists anymore. I run an older computer so I can't check for you but I bet Apple assumes everybody has upgraded to 64bit architecture by now and that feature may no longer be an option.  You are getting info on the iTunes application icon in the Applications folder?

I know I saw a topic or two about this in the past week or so and others have it working.

Have you tried going to the top menu and under "Addons" selecting the SRS iWOW

I recently upgraded the itunes app and the iWOW  menu vanished and there were also crashes of the itunes app lunch  as well.

Selected the addon and now I have the menu and the crashes haven't happened in the last 3 relaunches.

Seems to be resolved.

Hi, both of my Macs that were upgraded have lost the plug-in; all plug-ins actually. I don't see the Addons menu. I don't see the ability to run iTunes in 32-bit mode.

@1st_mac_1980's could you please explain a bit more about your set-up and how you've been able to get the menu and the plug-in working.

I'm using iTunes 12.5.3.16.

@KT of TX, what is your set-up?

I'm using iTunes 12.5.3.16, I don't see run in 32-bit mode on my MBP running 10.10.5.

I really want this plug-in to work again. There isn't anything like it.

I think that the best bet is to just reinstall the app.

I'm unable to find the steps I took now (recent updates might have changed the options I used)
Sorry about this.

IMO, you try using BOOM it's recently updated to version 2.x and delivers great sound improvement over standard system audio.

Mac OS 10.9.x
2011 27" iMac i7 quad core

iTunes 12.5.3.16

For me it worked to install an iTunes Apple-Script, on the next launch the script menu appears and the additions menu appeared again as well.

It had disappeared after updating to iTunes 12.6.0.100

Did you try restarting iTunes a couple of times ?

On my computer the 'Additions' menu only appears 1 out of 5 times I restart iTunes.

Yes, I just realized the same. Wether the Script is there doesn't seem to affect it as I thought earlier.

Has anyone a solution?

Yes... and it works!

Just restart itunes and srs appears, maybe two or three times and appears for sure.
