iSight not Working Sierra 10.12.6

Hi All,

I have a brand new 21 inch iMac, and since updating to Sierra 10.12.6, my internal iSight camera does not work.

When I open FaceTime or Photo Booth, the green light comes on, but the screen is black.

When I check the device status, the USB device tree has the camera, but the serial number is all zero's.

Any advice before i lug it to the local repair depot?

Try to contact with Apple support and ask about the camera issue.



Thanks for the reply kaz-k; I did that yesterday but the person on the phone wasn't sure what the problem was... he said maybe it's a hardware issue, and that I should take it in, but I have my doubts since the computer is only 2 weeks old, and the iSight worked just fine before the software update. Taking it in to be serviced or replaced is a massive hassle, so I'm hoping someone on here has a software fix (or I might wait till 10.12.7 comes out to see if the the issue is resolved).



Any update on your problem? My iSight hasn't been working since the 10.12.6 release. I have a mid-2010 MacBook Pro. I dumped the hard drive when it had an earlier version of Sierra and reinstalled with the latest. I get nothing except "No video capture devices were found" and an empty SPCameraDataType file. Power reset did not work.
