count of junk mail inconsistent

I am a Office 365 user.

I have Outlook for Mac on one system and Outlook for PCs on a second system. Both run fine and show the correct count of emails in the Junk Folder. However, from time to time, the Apple Mail program on my iPhone reports that there are items in the Junk folder, but if I click on the Junk item, I get a "No Mail" report.

Can anyone describe why this happens on the iPhone with the Apple mail client accessing an Outlook 365 mail account and how to deal with it?

Hey.  I have a similar problem with google and mac mail on my mac.  The junk folder for my google account shows a value of unread, which seems to be continually increasing.  However the junk folder shows as empty, and when i go directly to google, the junk folder online is empty.
