Hosts file keps reverting?
Hi,
I'm on Mac OS X Sierra. Long story short, I'm an idiot and downloaded Cold Turkey onto my laptop. Spent a good hour trying to uninstall the program. The program is gone, but the blocks are still in place. And I can't seem to keep the hosts file from being reversed back to the "block" mode. Here's how it looks.
The end says # END SELFCONTROL BLOCK
How can I delete the block from the file? It keeps coming back, even after I delete it, save the file, and use sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder to clear the cache. I've spent another two hours on this. :/
Did you install some software that was supposed to configure some sort of "self control?"
It appears to be designed to reconfigure your hosts file to redirect various websites to localhost.
You would need to uninstall that software to prevent it from replacing the block.
