External monitors connected to MBP keep going pink

I have 2 dell external monitors connected via displayport to hdmi adapters to my 2014 retina macbook pro 13. They usually work fine however occasionally they turn on with a pink tint to them. The only way to resolve this is to disconnect and reconnect them. I also occasionally get it where only one monitor will display anything at all and again the only fix is to disconnect and reconnect from the laptop.

Anyone had this issue and know of a fix?
