iTunes keeps saying updates needed when current

My current version is 12.7, on Windows 10 32-bit.

This issue has existed for me since at least  version 12.3.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes at least TWICE over that period trying to resolve this issue. I have also ran "repair" on multiple occasions (at least one each time the version ticks up) hoping that this situation will be resolved, with no effect.

Every time I turn on the computer, the updater pops up, and says I need to update iTunes - even though I am already up-to-date. If I close it out, and leave my computer on a few days, it pops back up.

This is annoying. And apparently people have been complaining about the same bug through versions going back to 2011 - and none of the advice ever seems to go past "uninstall and reinstall" which is KNOWN TO NOT WORK. Is there ever going to be a real resolution to this issue?

As a work-around, you should be able to  change the Apple Software Update frequency to daily, monthly, or never in the application's preferences.  I don't know of any other "fixes" to your situation.

It may have something to do with the 32 bit version of Windows.
