Somebody stole my iPad and I finally got it bac...

You need to connect the device to iTunes, and restore the device to factory settings.  Then you will be able to restore your backup onto the device (if you have one).

Connect it to your computer using the Lightning to USB cable. How to erase your iOS device & then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups.

You use the usb cable that came with the iPad, and connect it to a computer running iTunes to restore it.
