how to mirror ipad to car radios

HOW TO MIRROR MY IPAD TO  THE CAR RADIO SO I CAN WATCH IT THROUGH  THE CAR RADIO  SCREEN .

While it's possible to use Bluetooth on your iPad to play audio (if your car radio system has Bluetooth, also), I do not believe there is a way to do something simlar with video on your iPad through to your car radio's screen.

The screen in car radio setups is usually a dedicated screen just for use with a car's GPS nav system and for using the radio and all of its software settings through the radios's screen.

This screen, usually, is not a screen for watching videos or any other TV signals.

I do not believe this was ever possible.

AS I read your question, I found it rather intriguing, because the IPad can indeed stream music to your radio, so why not video?

AS MIchelPm have said very clearly this was never intended initially by car makers, however I have seen a Toyota Lexus play video on a similar car screen, mind you, this particular screen was made to display video, so it really depends on the car model and the options you have installed...

I know that you are thinking about Apple airplay but, this is something that you will need to investigate further with the car maker you are dealing with.... whether they have an option for this or not...

So there's 2 ways to do this action and its the same process for iPhones and iPads: 1. Wireless 2.Wired

I myself build custom cars & deal with radios a lot prepare to spend about $50 on this (possibly more possibly less).

1. You buy a streaming device that will allow you to connect your airplay to it (apple tv or a cheaper one that accepts your ipad) and connect this to the AV RCA or HDMI inserts in your radio. If you don't have these inserts then get a new radio is what I'd suggest. However by doing this streaming your ipad must have a phone service connected to it and it tends to use a lot of data being that it thinks its connnected to wifi using airplay but really its just using its own cellular data. (There's a few videos on youtube on this)

2.This option in which I prefer is the wired connection. Simply buy the "Lightning to AV digital Connector" or the "30 Pin to digital Connector" depending on which charger your iPad takes. Then connect this connector to an HDMI cable and plug that in to the HDMI plug of your radio.

Also, if your radio has no HDMI plugs but it does have RCA plugs you can buy converters online. But this is your 2 options, pay $50 for a scam converter or let the cell phone company rip you a new one in data usage. If you don't have an aftermarket or fairly new radio it might not work due to lack of RCA or HDMI plugs; however most vehicles with screens in them now have HDMI or RCA inserts.
