Use my old keyboard with MacBook Pro?

Use old keyboard/mouse from Mac desktop,2007,10.8.6 with Macbook Pro 13",2016, 4Thunderbolts, 3 ports?

I am 79 years old with arthritis and the surface on the Pro is too hard to use.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will check to see if they're a USB keyboard set. My old mouse and keyboard were plugged in to my Mac desktop. Would it be called wired, and is that a different problem?
