"My card" duplicates keep coming back

'My card' in Apple Contacts on my Mac will duplicate without a known reason.  I will have up to 100 copies of my contact card. I can delete all but one and over time the duplicates continue to come back or are recreated. This only happens with my card.

Why not delete them all, then see what happens?

It is very easy to set one as you wish later.

I was able to delete all but one. It has the little person silhouette. I created a wholly new one but and made it my new personal card. Now I have two with the person silhouette. I can delete the one I recreated but not that last one.

I deleted all but one about a week ago.  A new duplicate appears since then.
