Logic 10.3.1 core audio issues with Scarlet 2i2...

Hi guys

I'm getting increasingly frustrated ( as is the Focusrite support staff ) with constant ongoing issues with core audio in Logic 10.3.1

It's a long story but I purchased this Scarlet 2i2 interface to upgrade from my old M-Audio and upgraded my OS to 10.12, massive issues with connectivity between the two, and no real resolution, except I upgraded yet again to 10.3.1, and have issues with the core audio them it would just stop working and revert to system settings... I could record, but no playback through Scarlet, I had to use to the headphones on the Mac.

Focusrite support finally had me nuke a .kext file and a .plist file, and eventually it required a Team Viewer session with a support staff to rectify the problem, which I have promptly forgotten how to fix.

It had been working well for a couple months, until now, when the core audio is back to defaulting to system settings and not reading the Scarlet interface, though there is power going to it.. For a laugh, I plugged in my old M Audio and it did playback and record, sort of, the guitar effects in Logic didn't come out sounding right... Anyways, my rig has no plugins aside from stock Logic ones, just the iMac, a Octapad, Oxygen 49, and those go straight into the back of the Mac...

I'm losing time with this and work, I have another call into Focusrite, who knows when I'll get a response, but it's been a extremely frustrating experience.

iMac running Sierra 10.12.1, Logic X 10.3.1, Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 (second generation)

Can't really help with the Scarlett, but I think it might already help if you update to the latest version of Sierra, which is now at 10.12.4, with .5 already released as beta version. I have seen reports that is more stable with Logic and various interfaces.

Is that a 2nd generation 2i2?

You didn't install the extra low latency file that was available from the Focusrite/Scarlet website did you?

I upgraded to 10.12.4 last night and all that happened is that now I have no USB power going to the interface .... Hopefully Focusrite support can aim me in the right direction... Thanks for your reply!

Ok, you need to -remove- it, I can't tell you how but Focusrite can, it causes more problems than anything.

Also, when upgrading the operating system, you need to unplug the audio interface.

So, unplug the Scarlett, shut down the computer for a couple minutes then restart. Wait a few minutes until the computer settles then plug the 2i2 back in.

Did you ever solve this problem s2sturges? Since I updated to sierra and logic 10.3.2 my scarlett 2i2 isn't being recognised. It's a real pain!!
