cant watch itunes home videos on ipad

How do I view my uploaded itunes "home videos" on my ipad?  os 10.10.1 and os 8.1.1

If you added them to the Movies part of your computer's iTunes library and synced them to your iPad then they should show in the iPad's Videos app - do you have a 'Home Videos' tab at the top of the Videos app ? If not then do they show in Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage (under the 'Storage' heading) > Videos as being on the iPad ?

Thanks, so I think I need to ask a different question.  I found I could download a Home Movie from itunes to ipad via a cable connect.  After i did that, the Home Videos tab showed up.

Here is the new question, can i stream Home Movies from my computer itunes to my ipad. (I'm trying to do this within the same network)  I don't want to download to my ipad, just view or stream.

you can if you setup itunes shared lib on your computer

and make sure your firewall don't block it and that your router allow the ports

Well known TCP and UDP ports used by Apple software products - Apple Support

If you have :

- home sharing enabled on your Mac's iTunes (File > Home Sharing ; and check what is being shared in the Sharing tab in iTunes > Preferences)

- home sharing enabled on your iPad with the same account (Settings > Videos or Settings > Music)

- both the Mac and your iPad connected to the same network and,

- iTunes is open on your Mac

then you should get a 'Shared' tab at the top of the Videos app which will allow you to select your Mac's iTunes videos. All your Mac's Movies (so actual films as well as home videos) will probably be shown on the same screen on your iPad, mine doesn't distinguish between type of 'film'. Not sure whether it's just my library, but I don't get cover art showing for all of my shared videos on my iPad.

funny, but looking at another string where i was trying to trouble shoot an ATV issue, the fix was, "change the name of your computer in sharing" and this will fix your sharing issues in ATV...doing this, I now see the "sharing" tab on my ipad...this seems like a tangled web, at least its working. thanks.

I have never seen Settings > Videos or Settings > Music.

Also, this must be irrelevant on iOS 11.0.x. Now the new TV.app is introduced and all happens there.

Also, with the new iOS, all Home Videos disappeared.

However, I learned that this is a bug. Home Videos come back when Air Plane Mode is switched on, but then all on-device movies (purchased movies) disappeared, instead.

This should not be the behaviour.

All on device movies (regardless of either purchased or home-made) should be shown at all the time.

That reply is nearly three years old. And I'm in the UK.
