remove FaceTime and iMessage addresses

Prior to iOS 11, I was able to remove unwanted email addresses from iMessage and Facetime. Now, you can no longer add/remove addresses from iMessage and Facetime. You can uncheck addresses that you don’t want to allow, but how do you completely remove them in iOS 11?  I have addresses that I NEVER want associated with iMessage or FaceTime. I only want to use my phone number (and Main iCloud addres if absolutely necessary).

This has caused embarrassment in the past when I have facetime set to only use my phone number for incoming / outgoing calls. And if I call someone, they get a message from one of my alternate email addresses instead.

I have updated all applicable devices to iOS11 on Sept 19th, 2017.  I did not use Beta for iOS11 at all so I am on the official production release.
