Which is the best pdf creator for a Mac

I am trying to find the most effective pdf creater.  Have used ABBY Transformer but unsure if it works on Mac OS

You don't need a separate program to accomplish that. Powerpoint allows documents to be saved in formats other than .ppt. Instead of clicking "save," click "save as." Under the save menu, there will be a dialog that says "Save as type." The default selection is "PowerPoint Presentation," but if you click the selection arrow you will see other file types as well, including .PDF. Select .PDF and then name your file.

Agreed you don't need a separate program, but for example, the Mac Word PDF save is pretty bad... Saving a document as PDF, it chops off the bottom part (about 1 cm) and also the right hand side (about 1 cm). There isn't even an option to shrink/increase page size. WYSIWYG printed

Solution for me is to go to my old Windows computer and do something so simple like Save as PDF in Word, and it works. Something that sadly, Mac Word can't do!

If you only have a few file need to be converted to PDF file, you can direclty use online PDF conversion site, but that's not safe! if you have some important business file, I don't suggest using that method.

Actually, the Mac *is* a PDF maker — that functionality has been built right into Mac OS X from the beginning. From the Print dialog/sheet in any application, you should see a PDF button which, when clicked, gives you a little menu of options related to PDFs, one of which is simply to save whatever you were going to print as a PDF. Some applications, like Preview or Pages, also have their own options to export a document or picture you're working on as a PDF. Hope that helps!

Make PDF.......or convert to PDF....?  big difference.

There is only one genuine PDF creator, in the true sense of course, Adobe Acrobat Pro.

All other such applications pale in what they can do with PDF creation.

Tried this - it doesn't work because I can't install Distiller as it is no longer supported and was discontinued May 31 2013.

Yes, actually I mean Converter. A big difference indeed!

The ones that I've tried leave a margin/border around the whole document which I can't get rid of. I've tried the Coolmuster/iStonsoft/iPubsoft trial versions and it's all the same.

My current solution is to switch to Windows bootcamp, Office Windows/Save as PDF which does the job 100%.

I just thought that Office Mac should be the same but maybe that's too much to ask

I tried that option but it didn't solve my problem with regards to the white border it produces on all pages. Like I explained above, if I can get rid of this border then I'm happy!

This is how you can easily create PDF from any document:

1. Open the document that you wish to turn into a PDF.

2. Choose File > Print (or press Control + P).

3. Click on PDF in the bottom-left of the Print menu and choose Save as PDF.

4. Enter a name for the PDF in the Save As field.
