Force

I'm having a bit of trouble with playlists created in iTunes NOT updating/syncing on my iPhone.

Sometimes they do update, sometimes they don't. Sometimes it takes hours, or even days. And I can't seem to find any SYNC PROGRESS icons, or a way to "FORCE SYNC" - to tell iTunes "okay, now upload!" or tell my iPhone "okay, now download!"

Any ideas?

Make sure both devices are online. Make a change to a playlist. Or more drastically turn iCloud Music Library off and then back on again.

On Mac, File menu -> Library -> Update iCloud Music Library.

Thanks for both replies…I had to do both techniques, but it ended up working. I had tried the iTunes "update" command before. And I do think that iOS should have a similar "force sync" function. But I went ahead and toggled on/off iCloud music, and that seemed to help jog things into place.

Thank you both for responding!

You're welcome.

Turning iCloud Music Library off and then back on again works for me, but it IS drastic -- if you have downloaded any Apple Music songs for playback when you are offline, the downloads all get deleted.
