Macbook shuts down after grey loading bar

Macbook pro 13' mid 2013 model , suddenly after loading grey bar it shuts down.Sierra installed. Tried reinstalling OS but it keeps saying "cant connect to apps store" .Tried resetting PRAM & Blah blah., Even not starting in safe mode. What should I do ? Any help would be great.

Consider making a Genius Bar appointment at your local Apple store to have your system evaluated.

Yup.Also found out that it says SMART STATUS FAILING.Does it means I need to replace my hard drive?

Most likely.

 

Hopefully you have a recent backup.  If you can get the system up and backed up to a different back drive (NOT touching any backup you currently have), that would be good too.

 

If you like this Mac, consider replacing the existing disk with an SSD.  It will improve the performance a lot.  I've used OWC <https://MacSales.com> for my SSD upgrades.  I've also used OWC or Crucial.com for RAM upgrades.
