Pencil

Why wont my pencil pair it keeps saying low battery and pairs for a couple of seconds then goes off. i have tried this on 2 iPad Pro and same problem. I see its seems to be a familiar error hardly used and kept in case with protector cover on. Did anyone get this solved or is down to apple updates.

Have you fully charged it?  If fully charged and saying low battery, that sounds like a hardware issue, not software. Take it in the Apple for a free evaluation.  I’ve had my Pencil since the week they began shipping and have never experienced  any pairing issues.

I think the key here is the "hardly used aspect". What a lot of people don't realize is that lithium ion batteries don't like to be kept with low charge and stored that way for long periods of time (more than a few months at a time). So if you use your apple pencil below 30% and store it that way there is a good chance of damaging the pencil battery and it will stop holding a charge long enough to pair. I could be wrong but it sounds like the battery will barely hold a charge long enough to connect and then it loses power completely. Once this happens you can even charge a battery to 100% but it will lose power very quickly. Hope this answers your question. Kind of su cks that the apple pencil doesn't let you change the battery. The fact that the battery is so small doesn't help either. It is very easy to drain it and you don't want to store a fully charged lithium Ion battery either. I would think they would design the circuit to prevent that from happening but you may have just stored it too long at too low of a charge to revive it. They probably expect people who use it to use it at least once every few days.

Did you figure out the problem?  What did it end up being?  Also, when you connect the ipad to the apple pencil by connecting the lightning plugs together, what was the % of charge in the pencil?  Scroll your screens all the way to the left, a box will show the charge level of ipad and all other paired or connected accessories.  I often pair my magic key board and apple pencil to my ipad, at the same time.

If you have iPad with ios 11.0 update, you should do the next update, ios  11.1 which came out a bit ago and fixes the problems that ios 11.0 caused.
