Why was my AppleID disabled?

I was updating my payment info because I had one card closed and was sent another. I updated it and went to purchase something within an App. A message popped up on my screen that read "Your Apple ID has been disabled". I have no idea why or when it was disabled. Upon Googleing this issue, I found out that I need to follow the steps on iforgot. I did this over a week ago and have still received nothing. I understand that many people have this same issue and I think it is terrible customer service. When doing this, you are told "You till receive a text to your phone number in 24 hours" and this is far from the truth. I cannot update anything, buy anything or download anything that I need until this is resolved. I dont know what more to do.

You might not have contacted Apple. Never use Google to find Apple contact information. Most of its search results will be for entities completely unaffiliated with Apple. That is the primary means by which people willingly divulge their Apple ID credentials to criminals, and is the likely reason your Apple ID became disabled to begin with.
