My IWatch series 2 now is not working because I didn't enable the Digital Crown when I went to swim. Now it's waterlogged. Is there anything I can do?

Not having turned on Water Lock would not, in itself, cause your watch to become damaged.


Apple Watch Series 2 remains equally water resistant regardless of whether or not Water Lock is turned on.


As your Apple Watch was exposed to water without enabling Water Lock beforehand, Water Lock can instead be enabled afterwards and then immediately turned off again in order to expel any water from inside the speaker:


  • Swipe up from the bottom of the watch face to open Control Center > tap on Water Lock (the button with a droplet icon) to lock the screen.
  • Then turn the Digital Crown to unlock the screen again and to clear water from the speaker.

 

After swimming, be sure to also clean your Apple Watch Series 2 by gently rinsing it with warm tap water and to dry the watch and band using a soft, lint-free cloth.


If your watch has sustained water damage, stop using it (remove it, turn it off and do not charge it) and then contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available, if required), make a Genius Bar reservation or visit an Apple Authorised Service Provider for assistance:

Can you explain what happened? Did the watch stop working all together? Did the screen have a black spot then it spread? Did the screen just stop responding?

 

Did you swim in sea water? or swimming pool?

 

I am asking because I'd like to buy a Series 2 watch after my first Apple Watch died from sea water... hoping that Series 2 would not have the problem with water damage. I miss having Apple watch! I feel I am lazier and gaining weight without it..

Great reply . I also faced this same problem few days back and i m not able to get warranty coverage which is very unexpected from apple

did you contact Apple Care? did they replace the watch for you?
