I just received what looks like a scam email. I...

I just received what looks like a scam email. It is supposedly for a receipt from iTunes for a product that I didn't buy. The email contains a link to a cancel form and I have never seen this from iTunes in the past. The form asks for your personal details as well as your credit card details, including the security code.

The sender's email address is do_not_reply @ fc7c0c-itunes. com. au. This not the regular email address from iTunes. Has anyone else received this type of email?

It is a phishing attempt. Do not respond. Do not divulge any personal or financial information. You can use the address below to forward the suspect email message to Apple.

I too have had a few of these. As Stedman advises, report it as phishing. Before forwarding it to Apple as an attachment go to Mail > View > Message and select All headers. (You can customize your toolbar to include an All Headers icon).

It is probable better not to open any links in a message you view as suspicious.

I received an email as well but, it has a westjet email address.  It has a link on the email saying that if I did not make this purchase, then to click on the link.  The link takes me to a cancellation page asking me for my name, address, credit card information and SIN number!  I did not fill it out but, went back and checked my credit card.  No such payment had ever come off of it.  So, I realized it was a scam.  I decided to check what the apple store's email just in case something similar happens again.

I got one too  the email address is newletter@escentual.com  The email looked super legit and the timing was in line with my buying new products, but it's a scam so watch out!

Hi,

I actually have a similar problem.  I received an email like this even though I didn't have an AppleID.  It was scary, to say the least.  The email was from "no-replys@csat.apple.com", and some guy called Ronald was using an AppleID registered to my email address to buy a music subscription.

Any ideas?

It's a phishing email, you could forward it to Apple as above.

DO I just delete this email?

Your choice, but you could forward a copy to Apple as above

i got the same email that has following information

Order ID: UK3873V09Y
Receipt Date: 11/03/2016
Order Total: GBP 26.51
Billed To: Store Credit

I have also had one like this.

I have had the same advice for an item I didn't buy.

The sender is shown as: krm9118155@checkcoverage.apple.com.    Very misleading with the Apple part being shown.

The logo is shown as app iTunes.

Apple shows an email address to send phishing emails but says you receive no reply -not very helpful.
