camera problem

I have a macbook pro retina, 2,8 GHz, 8GB macOS Sierra  10.12.4.  My problem is that when I use skype my camera does not show me in the little window at the side but my conversation partner, as shown on the full screen. the camera works on photobooth as well as on skype as long as my conversation partner does not pick up the phone
