problem connecting to server

hello all,

I bought a new Mac and connected it to my time capsule (bought in 2012). for a while, everything was working fine, I have managed to complete a few backups and retrieve some files to save on my new laptop.

However, all of a sudden, now when I try to connect to it with the password, I get this message: there was a problem connecting to the server.... please contact administrator (which is me!)

I have tried resetting, hard reset (with button on the back), unplug and replug.. to no avail. I do not know what to do now.

Any advice?
