Are dents on a MacBook Pro a big problem?

I found this second hand MacBook Pro with good specs at a good price and overall it's in good condition, aside from a few scratches and dents. The scratches don't bother me too much but the dents do, not because of the aesthetics but because of potential issues with damage caused to the internal when the dent was created. It's nothing major, they aren't deep and there are only two, but I'm wondering if there could be hardware problems that are not displayed by the Apple Hardware Test.

Apple Hardware Test is limited in its ability to detect errors. Generally, if it detects an error there is one. But it can report no errors when more extensive tests used by Apple Store techs can find one.

Best advice when purchasing a used Mac is to buy from Apple Refurbished:

Refurbished Mac - Apple

That way you will get a Mac that has been restored to factory conditions plus a warranty.

Hi,

Yes, there could be internal issues caused by the dents and not showing up in AHT. Or it could be fine. There's no way to know. Unless it comes with a decent warranty and is a very good price, I would pass on it.
