Does anyone know how to organize your music on ...

I'm trying to add music to my iPhone from iTunes and want to see what all I have added thus far. So I go into my iPhone portion, see all of the music I have already (Over 1k so scrolling would be tedious). It's all sorted by Songs so naturally it's all ABCs. What I want is to have it be sorted by Artist, but when I click on it to organize it that way, nothing happens.

Does anyone know how to fix this or if there even is a way that doesn't have me deleting all of my music and starting all over again?
