How do I stop photos from opening on startup?

How do I stop photos from opening at startup?

Have you checked Apple menu > System Preferences > Users & Groups > username > Login Items?

The only thing I saw in there was a fuspredownloader which I unchecked but photos still opened on startup. A few days ago my mail was offline & I was trying to get it back. I know I was in accounts or somewhere & there was an option in the bottom corner to open with. I may have inadvertently set it to open photos. Problem is, I can't find where I did that?

Checking or unchecking the box does nothing to stop things in login items from loading.  It merely puts the app in the background when it opens.

Right-click on the Photos icon in the Dock. Lood for Open at Login and uncheck it if it is set.

I figured it out. Had to set no application in image capture. Thanks for the input

Did you have a camera, image card, or phone connected when you started up?

where do you adjust this setting?
