Resting Heart Rate only shows for previous day;...

All data on my watch for heart rate works EXCEPT resting heart rate.  The graph shows, but the data shows --.  I can see the data on my phone for all previous days, but never the current day.  Am I alone?  Is there a fix?  I have an Apple Watch series 2, with watchos4.

You may not yet have been at rest for long enough for sufficient data to have been recorded.

 

Under watchOS 4, for Apple Watch Series 2 models, the Heart Rate app will report your resting heart rate once it has gathered sufficient data.

 

To view your resting rate, open the Heart Rate app and scroll down the page (by swiping or turning the Digital Crown):

 

 

Resting rate is also reported in the Health app on your iPhone (Health Data > Heart > Resting Rate:
