How do I sync apps to my kids devices without i...

With iTunes 12.7 announcement, how do I manage my different iDevices without a sync app on the home base iMac?  I manage the kids' and wife's iPhone apps and store backups on the iMac.  How is this accomplished with iTunes 12.7 (and beyond)?

You manage (and download) apps on the individual devices. Since App Thinning was introduced in iOS 9.2, it was not ideal to install universal app versions from iTunes, anyway.

Nothing changed regarding iTunes backups. Backups never included apps, just app data.
