the summary tab DOES NOT show up  ON THE NEW  (AND HORRIBLE) ITUNES SOFTWARE! where the heck is it???

I believe Command S or control S will bring the sidebar view back, which sometimes makes things easier to find.

so in the right hand corner you should see your device click on the small picture of your device and there you have it the summary screen

I can't take credit for it, someone else posted the shortcut, but glad it helps.

I found it!  After trying everything I could think of, I clicked on the left pane on iPhone and it opened it up.  Yay!!!  Why do things have to be so difficult??

I'm trying to add my Christmas playlist to my iphone but can't find where I check which playlists to synch.  I don't like the new iTunes...

I have the left hand summary tab but I no longer get access to the icons across the top where I used to choose what synchs and what doesn't - Apps, music, etc.  How do I get that back?

Help?  Anyone?

With iTunes 11, if you are on a Mac then option-command-S (or View > Show Sidebar) should get the left-hand sidebar to show, on a PC it's control-S.

You've connected a device and selected it iTunea ? Summary should be the first tab under the Settings heading
