Malfunction of Battery on my new Macbook Air

Hello, I just bought my MacBook Air a few days ago which is considered very new. However, my battery drains quite rapidly even though it claims to last up to 12 hours between charges. I charged it in the morning to 100% and only used it at night for around 3 and a half hours and its already at 20%. I’ve checked the condition of my Mac battery by pressing 'option' on my keyboard while clicking the battery icon on the menu bar and it says ‘Normal’. Please help me to solve this problem. About all you can do is try resetting the SMC: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295. If no luck, contact Apple. If you're not satisfied, you have 14 days from date of sale to return it for refund or exchange.
