MacBook Pro magsafe (1) has faint green chargin...

Hello all. My mid-2009 MacBook Pro has been a bit wonky the past few days. When I put my MacBook on the mag safe 1 charger and move it around a bit, the charger goes faint green or amber (depending on if there is a charge or not). It still says charging just fine (except one time it said "not charging"), and it charges if I don't move it vigorously. But if I move it around the light turns faint and I was looking up that this is a bad thing and people's MacBooks just don't charge after this! Maybe a dirty connection between the charger and laptop? Please help!!

*Also, right now I have it plugged in under my desk connected to a monitor and it is working and charging fine, except when I turned it to access the dvd drive.
