MacBook Pro Touch ID keeps deleting itself

Hi,

This is the third time I've had to put in my touch ID, it keeps deleting itself as if I never enabled it.

So either I'm suffering from memory loss or my mac is acting out.

Has anybody experienced the same? fixes? workarounds?

Hey Philip, have you made sure you are on the latest version of macOS? If so then you may want to contact Apple support to report it incase it's under investigation. If it's simply forgetting your Touch ID then at least it should be a hardware problem.

Same issue here. It started when I updated a couple of weeks ago. I'm now on 10.12.6. I can't say which update did it for sure, but it was around the time when OS11 came out. It was working totally fine until then. Seems like an apple issue.

It seems to happen when I restart. I go to login and Touch ID doesn't come up. I check my settings and sure enough, any finger I had added is gone.
