Why cant the Mid

Why can't the Mid-2009 Macbook Pro run Sierra when a Late 2009 White Macbook can run Sierra and they have the same specs? Its been bothering me for a bit. Thanks!

I would not worry about it. You are not missing much. El Capitan performs just as good as Sierra if not better.

Just use Siri on your iPhone. Thats all that is missing. I never use Siri on my Macs anyways.

the old El Capitan can't run the new Xcode 8.3.1.. We're stuck with the horrible version 8.21 ---  so its not just Siri

Siri is not a big deal but another thing that is added to Sierra is better integration with iCloud (documents/desktop sync, photos mac storage optimization) which is actually the feature I really miss on one of the laptops.

Then you will need a MacBook Pro from 2010 or later.
