iOS 11 OTA updates

This has happened with the updates to iOS 11.0.1 and now again with 11.0.2 on a iPad Air 2. I check for software update, there is an update available, I choose “Download and Install”, I am asked for my PIN which I provide. The wheel then begins to spin and then stops. I choose ”Download and Install” again, the wheel spins again and then stops again....wash, rinse, repeat. Over and over again and it will never start downloading the update. on my other devices, after I put in my PIN, I am then presented with the terms of service which I agree to and the download starts. But on this iPad, I am never presented with the ToS.

When it happened on 11.0.1, I updated it via iTunes hoping that would correct the issue but unfortunately it didn’t.

Hopefully someone one has a solution.

It could indicate that you do not have sufficient space left on your iPad to perform the OTA update. Updating via iTunes on a PC/Mac negates that problem.

Thanks for your reply dilbert41. So you don’t even receive an error message regarding the issue anymore?...you just have to guess?...seems a little weird.

Offloaded a few apps which freed up some space and the update is now downloading. Hey @Apple, a message, notification, or even a smoke signal indicating why the update won’t start might be a good idea.
