Easier way to transfer photos?

I have a 16gb SE and a 13inch MacBook Pro. This is probably a stupid question but, I need an effective way to store all of my photos. I was wondering if I can use iCloud Drive to save photos? I don't have enough space on my phone to keep all of my photos on photo stream. Is there a way where I can just keep them only on my computer so I can delete them off of my phone? Thank You!

There is a very easy way you can do that:

PHOTO IMPORT IOS TO MAC/PC

And just to make sure, you do not have iCloud Photo Library turned on, correct?
