2015 MacBook Logic board failure

Having purchase my shiny new MacBook in July 2015, and used it for home use etc I was frustrated that last week after an error message the laptop shut down, and never restarted.

A a customer of Apple and owner of numerous products I took the laptop to the Genius Bar for a quick software check. I was told that my 18 month home laptop has had a complete Logic board failure which will cost £600 plus the £70 check fee for repair.

This is disgraceful, and obviously out of warranty.

Same here. I've had the logic board replaced once already and am not willing to pay for it again. There is clearly something wrong with this machine.

The manager of our local Apple Store offered a sizeable discount on a new machine. I filed a claim with my credit card because one of the benefits is an extra year of the warranty. They have approved it. Might want to see if your card offers the same protection.
